Apostolic Testimony - John 21: 24-25

There isn’t time or space to quote all the words that could be quoted from the Son of God.

“Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” (John 21:25) NIV

Considering the size of John’s world at the time and the considerable lack of computer resources, I am sure he was not exaggerating.

The ministry of Jesus lasted roughly three years. To attempt to write every word spoken or testimony of every healing and miracle displayed would have involved far too much time for quill and parchment.

The point is that we have enough to make our decision. The witnesses that did write held pens guided by the Holy Ghost.

Jesus said that when the “Comforter” would come he would not speak of himself. That was not his job or his authority. The testimony of the Spirit would be of the Messiah; the Christ.

We have enough. The information gleaned from the testimonies of Peter, John, Paul and Matthew tells us plainly who Jesus was and what his mission was about.

The record of the three year ministry of Jesus is arguably the most recognized and debated history of all men who ever walked the earth.

One might suggest that Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, Benjamin Franklin or Thomas Edison were brighter, greater, and more educated than the carpenter’s son known as Jesus. They would be wrong.

The scriptures explain that Jesus is the creator. Nothing that exists can exist apart from the one by whom all things consist, the Son of God.

Explain any discipline of education and then drive to the bottom line. It is said you can count numbers into infinity and take several eternities doing that. Well, Jesus is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the Ending, the Alpha and the Omega. Start counting and see Jesus. Finish counting and see Jesus. It is simply a matter of recognizing the invisible.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” (Rom. 1:20) NIV

The debate concerning the existence of God is relatively senseless. God does not appear in burning bushes anymore. He stands out in the open and challenges men to open their eyes. Some who have sought answers to the origins of the species have found the answers in God. Others, remaining skeptical, continue searching the dead ends, coming up empty, having to begin searching again.

Theories abound. There is only one certainty; Jesus!

“This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.” (John 21:24) NIV

Those of us who believe know that the testimony of John is true. He had no need to fabricate tales. What he witnessed was God, on Earth, presenting his testimony. This is his record.
