I Just Know Jesus

By Michael John McCrae
Jan. 2, 2006

It is true that I do not have all the information I probably need to conform to atheistic thought. I do not study the religion of the atheist because I am not an atheist. To try to study the religion of the atheist puts me on a plane equal to the atheist who attempts to study the one true God of Heaven. Their ignorance becomes as apparent as my ignorance of their religion.

So the point is proven. I don’t know anything about atheism or their chief biblical references from the halls of scientific academia. They caught me. I only scored one “B” in high school biology class. I wasn’t a Christian then either.

To suggest I am a Creationist would be wrong too. I don’t know anything about “Creation Science” or “Intelligent Design” as it is presented anywhere on the globe. Why? Because I don’t have time for those types of studies either. I leave such things for those who have studied those subjects just like I would leave talk of medicine to Doctor Mick or talk of women to Judy Ramsook.

One thing I do want to point out is the staunch defense of the religion of the atheist when someone comments on their religion in ignorance. The reaction and massive barrage of email and counter articles can be overwhelming. The atheists who have responded (and they’ve all been atheists to this point in time) to my poor little column have run a gamut from severely upset and threatening to tolerantly civil.

The other thing worth noting is that only one bothered to try to answer any of my questions. All the other respondents simply dwelled on my poor unscientific uttering and decided my questions were not worthy of comment or answer.

Another interesting thing is the argument itself. The atheists (Apparently they don’t appreciate the term evolutionists.) give me none of the counter argument. They will assert that Creation scientists don’t know what they are talking about but refuse to give me any of that science so I may make a reasoned comparison with what they say. They merely assert that Creation science is bunk or “junk” or some other term of derision and expect me to take their word for that. Atheists continually assert they are right and the creationist is wrong. How am I supposed to know and be able to reason unless they can show me how they are correct while the other is not?

What I am deeply heartened by is the fact that someone else is actually concerned about what I write. I have to wonder why anyone very secure in their faith that evolution is god would bother to give me the time of day one way or the other. I wrote my column because someone called me a “gullible hillbilly”. I just believed a column dedicated to impugning Christians required a response of some kind. Too, my response was not written with the intent to have anyone look at me as any kind of a scientific expert in any biological field. I asked questions about intent and content. I know the intent was to vilify Christians. The inference I took away from the article is that humans are very much related to fish, birds, reptiles and whales. Even the Bible tells me that there is one flesh for birds, one for fish and one for men and that each is certainly different (1 Cor. 15:39). Man was created to have dominion over the whole of creation and you might think that as physically weak as man is against a tiger or a gorilla that would not be possible except God gave man a mind to enable survival where none might otherwise be.

I certainly did not believe Mr. Gelbart’s column was written to put forth a credible scientific study so much that it was written to make Christians out to be boobs. He stated right up front his intolerance and then proceeded to display that intolerance throughout his piece. So too were the columns of Fred Smith and Steve Darby, neither of whom wrote to teach so much as to make Mike McCrae out to be an irrational idiot.

It is true I did not turn the other cheek. It is also true that I left Switzerland for a while. It is also true that I very much expected the reaction I got.

So you evolution believing atheists and other religionists found me out. I don’t know much about your religion of science, or should I say “anti-religion”? I am happy I was able to make Steve laugh and give Fred another column for his coffers. I hope they feel as though they have slain the dragon. You guys are right on top of your game. Well done.

Finally, don’t believe for a minute that I am swayed by your current arguments. I believe it is a good thing that you are so concerned about my faith in God that you write as if I am some enemy to be slain without mercy. You have no real concern other than to prove yourselves more intelligent than one person who refuses your god for the True God. But all the ammunition was yours. Science has again triumphed.

I just know Jesus. I shall stay content with that.
