Feb. 28, 2005 “One can't doubt that the American objective in Iraq has failed,” wrote William F. Buckley in National Review Online on February 24, 2006. By uttering this sentiment, he pretends to adopt the pose that the objective of the US in Iraq was the spread of democracy in the Middle East, and that the new outburst of violence that some are predicting will provoke civil war has dashed Americans’ hopes for peace and stability in the Fertile Crescent. In my opinion, the objective was never democratization, peace or stability in the first place. Had that been America’s true objective, then Buckley would be correct in acknowledging its failure. The true objective was the conquest of Iraq, with or without democracy, with or without peace, and with or without stability, as the disingenuous Buckley no doubt realizes. And that objective has been achieved brilliantly. The US is constructing four permanent, ultramodern military bases in Iraq; and a massive embassy, built like an inexpugnable fortress, with the capability of launching rockets, is being erected in the Green Zone in Baghdad. It doesn’t sound to me as if this garrison is there to monitor elections and tender paternal advice on legislative and judicial reform. It is there to rule and command, and it is likely to remain there for decades, perhaps for the entirety of the 21st century. Talk of withdrawal is apparently just a public-relations game, as if America has done its good deed, and having educated Iraqis about democratic procedures, it is time to let them go it alone, monitoring their fledgling efforts from afar. Now three Islamic countries—Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq--have been conquered, and American leaders are threatening Iran and Syria as well. These are countries that might never have needed to be antagonized but for the presence of Israel in their midst and America’s obstinate alliance with the Zionist state. Many Americans like to see themselves as gracious defenders of the poor persecuted Jews who invaded Palestine in the decades between 1880 and 1948, and who are still showing up in droves. Today’s Israelis are nothing more than Russian, Ukrainian, Byelorussian and Moldavian Jews, for the most part, and their offspring. In no way can they show that they are descendants of the Jews of the Bible. Even if it could be established without a doubt that they are of the House of David, that does not entitle them to return to a land that they left willy-nilly nearly 2000 years ago. Are the Quechua Indians entitled to rule South America? Do the Scandinavian Vandals still have a claim on North Africa? Do the Greeks still rule Egypt? Of course not. This idea is ridiculous in the extreme. Americans’ graciousness towards Israel originates in Jewish domination of the mass media. Naturally, Jewish media moguls slant the news in favor of Israel, emphasizing the supposedly vital importance of the US-Israel strategic alliance, and Americans blithely accept and repeat this bias, never even realizing that powerful Jews are merely laughing up their sleeves at simple-minded American Gentile gullibility and docility. As Ariel Sharon said to Shimon Peres in 2001, “We, the Jewish people, control America.” In 1973 in a televised interview, Senator William Fulbright said, “The Israelis control the policy in the congress and the senate.” “This stranglehold has got to be broken or the country’s going down the drain,” said evangelist Billy Graham in an unguarded moment in 1972. He was referring to the Jewish stranglehold on the medi, in a private conversation with Richard Nixon. One might cite hundreds of such opinions, but somehow they make no impression. Anyway, Israel loves you, George W. Bush!
