![]() By Ken Hughes Feb. 25, 2006 It’s all about them and very little about the rest of us. That wasn’t catsup spilled on the battlefields of Manassas, Bull Run and Gettysburg. It was White blood sacrificed freeing enslaved people. Not one of the families of the dead soldiers asked freed blacks for compensation for their losses. Mr. Stelly’s Article emphasizes the lack of gratitude from the black community for what America has given blacks. Visit a few miles south to the Country of Haiti and you’ll see poverty and suffering more akin to the old days of savory. Whatever whites do it’ll never be enough in the eyes of the black community. This is what liberalism teaches, not responsibility but instead dependency. Has it ever occurred to Mr. Stelly blacks haven’t contributed one lick more than whites to Americas success. It wasn’t your blood and your sweat and your tears it was your ancestors and you have no right to feed on them forever. As long as there are blacks out there with Mr. Stelly’s mindset the black community is destined to remain at the bottom of the economic ladder. Mr. Stelly’s a hypocrite he lives as well and better than many of his white neighbors. Mr. Stelly is an accomplished man gainfully employed Why he chooses to perpetuate the myth blacks are being prayed upon is beyond me. Blacks have equal opportunity with whites all it takes is perseverance with that comes opportunity. In 1492 three ships of white, brown and black sailors landed on an island that would later become know as San Salvador. Cristobel Colon didn’t know where he was, wasn’t sure how he got there and didn’t know what to expect now that he was there that didn’t stop him and his men from persevering. From that experience the greatest country in the world was born. In a personal e-mail to Tim I suggested he respond with facts to my pervious article. I ask him to provide facts not rhetoric I’m sorry Tim but all I see is the same old bull liberals and black leaders have been preaching for the past fifty years, “ Poor Black Me.” What does Mr. Stelly say to the thousands of blacks who dug their way out of poverty through sacrifice and hard work does he suggest they’re an anomaly? Or are they Oreos as some call them. In the black community is it a badge of honor to be poor and uneducated, ask Mr. Stelly. I’m sorry Tim but you’re article did more to prove my point that it did in proving you’re point. It’s time blacks stopped separating themselves as thought they were entitled to some special status because their ancestors were admittedly treated very badly. White America has apologized a thousand times in a thousand ways. If you and your community haven’t gotten it by now you probably never will that doesn’t mean we’re required to keep making amends forever. You’ve suggested Republicans are less benevolent than Democrats. There’s an old adage “Feed a man a fish and he keeps coming back, teach men to fish and you free them forever. Republicans believe in mans freedoms over his votes they prefer to teach fishing. None of the statistical data in my article was a misrepresentation. That you chose to distort them to fit you vision of a Racist White America doesn’t alter the facts. It only proves there’s a racist black America that’s every bit as vocal, perhaps more so. I stand by my original statement. “If blacks want to get ahead first they must [get a head] that’s able to separate facts from crap. I’m not upset with Tim. I know where he’s coming from, generations of being feed a political rhetoric that has more holes than Swiss cheese. When you only hear one side of an issue it’s reasonable that will be the side you choose to believe. I ask Tim to respond to my original article and respond he did not with facts but with bigotry and distortions. It’s these kinds of exchanges that give readers both sides of the issue. Tim and I are friends and will always be. We Bellow You Decide. ------------ About the author: Ken Hughes joined the Republican Party at the age of three.
