Republicans Aren't Ignoring Blacks, Blacks Are Ignoring Republicans

By Ken Hughes
Feb. 22, 2006

There was a time when all Blacks voted Republican. Don’t ask me when and how it changed but it did. I’m more concerned with why it changed.

I wouldn’t like to say Blacks are ungrateful for what Republicans have done to advance their status in life many are. I wouldn’t like to say it but I must say it because its true. Few blacks realize most of the important advancements they’ve made have come with the assistance and insistence of Republicans in congress. The emancipation proclamation, the civil rights bill, the voting rights bill, and more recently a redefining of welfare add them all together and they spell [opportunity.]

These are things Democrats have given Blacks, welfare, public housing, ADC, lowering educational standards by accommodating the perceived inferior intellect of Blacks. It all adds up to missed opportunities. Democrats buy Black votes with shinny beads and pretty words and convince Blacks they’re their made of gold and Democrats are their saviors.

There’s an old post civil war story about Blacks being given 40 acres and a mule as reparations. When Lincoln was assassinated and Democrats took over the government the first thing they did was take back the 40 acres and the mule. There’s a correlation with the war on poverty instituted by President Johnson and carried on since. The Federal, State, and Local Governments have committed enough money to eliminate poverty to make every Black in America a millionaire several times over. There can only be limited answers, ether the people put in charge to administer the money are incompetents or Blacks are stealing it and spending it foolishly. Or the money was never their in the first place, of the three that’s the most likel. Add that all to gather it spells slavery

My new Computer Tec is a White immigrant from South Africa. Today after we both read Dr. Mick’s article on Blacks joining the group we call Americans and dropping the hyphen “African” we had a lengthy discussion how fortunate American Blacks are compared to Blacks anywhere else in the world. If Blacks are discriminated against in America it’s of their own making. Whites have not only done a 360 degree turn accommodating Blacks in many cases they’ve spun like a top. In the fifty years since Dr. King launched his civil rights movement asking and demanding nothing more than to be recognized as equals Black leaders have reached beyond their piece of the pie by taking a big bit out of everyone else’s. “Cry me a river for I’m discriminated against.” That’s the battle cry of the Liberal Black leaders fleecing their masses.

The few thinking Blacks, those voting Republican do so because they recognize Democratic handouts are there to repress any attempts to dig their way out of the cycle of poverty. As longs as Democrats can convince the majority of Black Americans they’re second class citizens they’ll continue to vote Democratic. When people are continually told they’re substandard they’ll remain substandard.

Whites have busted their collective a**s for 50 years trying to make things equal now it’s time for blacks to get off their collective a**s and make things equal. I have many friends in the Black community, hard working intelligent personable people who if not for their skin color wouldn’t be recognizable at a KKK picnic. If I’ve offended any Blacks, So whining Blacks offend me.

Still they have an “I’m Black don’t mess with me sucker” attitude. My friends, it's 2006 ……..“Get Over It.”……and …….”Get With It.”
