Feb. 9, 2006 Senator Hillary Clinton has some serious questions to answer before the fall elections. She has the choice of making her mark in history in the United States Senate where she’s already made progress or she’ll give all that up to run for president where her chances of success grow dimmer each day. When the media starts pointing out the potential candidates missteps it’s time to reconsider their options. Recently the media seems to be more than a little catty toward Senator Clinton. It’s always been Senator Clinton desire to be the first female president of the United States. There was a time when that desire was shared by many of the voters. I personally wouldn’t vote for Senator Clinton although she’s undoubtedly the best the Democratic Party has to offer as a potential candidate for president. It seems the bloom is fading from Senator Clintons Rose. There seems to be a great deal of doubt among political pundits as to Senator Clinton’s popularity as a candidate for president. I’m sure it has a lot to do with her obvious turn to the center away from the hard left who’ve promoted her candidacy for a number of years. It’s been their dream for years the Clinton’s would bring socialism to America and do away with that pesky constitution that gets in their way of achieving their agenda. Are Democrats in the first phases of cannibalism? Is Hillary one of their first victims, only time will tell? It’s becoming obvious Democrats are realizing the folly of their past attempts to discredit President Bush, now they turn on one of their own, Senator Clinton in order to compensate is making contradictory statements depending on who she speaks with. The more inconsistent she is the more the media picks up on it. I fear Senator Clinton is boxing herself into an unfavorable position where serious voters are concerned. Senator Clinton can’t rely on Bill’s charm to win her the Whitehouse. That she must do on her own, is she up to the task? There’ve been cat fights in the past as Democratic candidates positioned themselves for a seat on the Democratic ticket as nominee for president. Paraphrasing Al Jolsen, “You Aint Seen Nothing Yet.” The 2008 Democratic Primaries are likely to make the Super Bowl look like children playing in a sand box. This is a run for a spot on the ticket that will certainly be out for blood. Will Madam Hillary be willing to suffer the scrutiny that will surely come with a run for the brass_ring? Who’ll be the first Democrat to leak the long anticipated Barrett Report that reportedly ties Hillary Clinton to criminal activities? Senator Clinton is placing herself between a rock and a hard place much as Senator Kennedy did in the past. She knows she can survive in the Senate. Being only the third president to be impeached in two and a quarter creatures isn’t a pleasant thought and Hillary would certainly face that probability given the treatment of President Bush by Democrats. Can Hillary’s past conduct be as forgivable as her husbands? Hillary Clinton may be coming to the realization she isn’t Bill Clinton and probably not even his shadow. A presidential campaign could very well make her the Queen with no cloths, leaving her out there literally naked all alone for the voters to see her warts and all. Hillary Clinton’s beginning to look like a 40 year old divorcee in a Victoria Secrets Shop grabbing for whatever will make her look her best for the moment, without a concern for what will expose the worst of her. Hillary could most likely be a Senator until her great-grand-children run for the presidency if she chooses, running for president is a gamble. It’ll be interesting to see if she takes the plunges into that pit of hungry alligators called the Democratic Primaries. Senator Clinton recently made reference to the errors made by President Bush. Compared to errors made by previous Democratic presidents including Senator Clintons Husband Bill Clinton I would have to say Bush comes off looking pretty damn good by comparison. He managed to clean up the Clinton messes of an impending recession and an exposed deficit, corporate scandals, attention to world terror, renting out the Whitehouse for personal gain, civility in government at least on the Republican side, tax breaks for tax payers. There’s a long list of accomplishments President Bush can be proud of. Most of the perceived problems Democrats speak of are just that perceived. Fabricated by Democrats and broadcast by a liberal media. When truths are told they’re dismissed as biased propaganda by the liberal media. I wish Hillary no ill will. She’s as qualified as any Democrat has ever been to assume the position of the president. The last Democrat who was truly qualified to be president was Harry Truman, since then it’s been slim pickings. ------------ About the author: Ken Hughes joined the Republican Party at the age of three.
