Feb. 4, 2006 I live in a Detroit suburb. The entire area around Detroit has gone mad. The way they’re preparing for the game Sunday you’d think it was the second coming of that religious guy, what’s his name. We hold some other important events here. The International Auto Show isn’t chopped liver you know. That’s pretty important to us since “Cars Are Us,” so to speak. Tiger Woods spent a week here last year playing in the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament. Electing a Mayor of Detroit can become a national event. I know everyone thinks they have the most corrupt politics in America. We know we, [Detroit] wins that trophy hands down. Our sister city to the South Windsor Ontario, Canada, now before you purists get all over me telling me Canada is east of the good old USA. It’s all about a bend in the river. Tactically Detroit City Center [that’s where football is played] is due north of Windsor. Getting back to why I bring up Windsor, Canada has just passed some strange laws. When requesting a table at one of Windsor’s bistros it’s not uncommon to request a corner booth in the back telling the Headwaiter you plan on having sex for dessert. I kid you not sex by consenting adults in public places in Canada is Oky-Doky with them as long as it’s free and unsolicited. Now there’s an oxymoron for you Unsolicited_Sex. How do you get someone to have sex with out a little solicitation? Another of Canada’s new laws if you sneeze once you can bring out the pot and toke a few strictly as a medication, it’s the new cold tablet in Canada. Just don’t bring it back to the States or it’ll be you’re ass that’s grass not you pot. We expect Windsor to be our sin city suburb for the game. Fair warnings don’t expect to see any Canadian Mounties running around in red coats and funny hats. First you’re American civil rights aren’t worth squat in Canada. Screw up and you’ll be dealing with the OPP, [Ontario Province Police] before they can even attend police academy they must have their sense of humor surgically removed. Customs and Police are two groups of people we don’t make jokes with. Windsor is one of Ontario’s larger cities though rather non-descript as a vacation spot. Windsor offers gambling, booze, drugs, sex, muggings and the usual tourist cons one finds along our boarder cities. The Mayor of Detroit said he intends to curtail crime especially sex and drugs in the city during the week of Super Bowl. I’m surprised, that’ll cut into the graft and corruption of the city politicians won’t it? I mean fleecing those football fanatics would be like taking candy from a baby. Why spoil such an opportunity? Maybe he wasn’t serious about it, come to think of it the mayor doesn’t get too series about anything except partying. This is something, The XL [40th ] A Super Bowl game being played in the Detroit Lyons home field and to think the Lyons haven’t won anything in years. Only in America is this possible, dissing the hometown team just to make a few gazillion buck. Yes I’ll be watching the damn game, with me it’s not about football it’s the free food and booze at my friends Comer’s house. I’ll suffer through a game any day for one of his wife’s meals.
