Princess Diana--Who Was Zoomin' Who?

By Brooks A. Mick, M.D.
Dec. 13, 2006

Princess Diana, one of the world's glamour royalty, was a prime target of the paparazzi. She couldn't even go to the health spa and work out a bit without someone trying to shoot photos of her decolettage or her sweaty spandexed butt, but who would have thought the US government was spying on her too?

It isn't clear just which agency or at whose request the spying was done. Speculation is rampant, and some say the British royal family requested it, trying to get some dirt on Princess Diana to keep her reined in. She was considered a bit of a loose cannon, capable of embarrassing actions or saying embarrassing things. Some have even speculated that it was simply someone with the hots for Diana doing some freelance cyberstalking on his own. Some blame some unknown person in the NSA, or the CIA, or the Pentagon...but it isn't clear what motive any of those agencies would have. Diana may have been against landmines, but that doesn't make her a significant risk to the security of the USA.

As I said, speculation is rampant.

Warning: Wild herd of speculation coming! Stand aside before you get trampled!

Talk of our security agencies' spying on Diana may be meant, by the mainstream media, to further drum up anti-Patriot Act sentiment. But when did Diana die? That was 10 years ago. The Patriot Act wasn't in effect. George W. Bush wasn't even president yet.

Hmmm...who was president back then? Was it anybody we know who had a tendency to wolfishly leer, either overtly or covertly, at beautiful young women, unknowns or celebrities? Gee, come to think of it...it was Bill Clinton! As long as the whole world appears to be speculating, could that someone in government with the hots for Diana have been our Slick Willie? Would he have the power to have authorized some covert spying on the object of his lust? Well, sure!

But consider this: What happens in a marriage when one person is suspected of infidelity? The other spouse hires a private investigator! But what if the couple is the First Couple of the land? Could one of them exert pressure on a government agency to spy on the other's suspected object of affection? Especially so if there is no private investigator in the world with the technology to track cell phone conversations worldwide? Has Hillary behaved in a way to suggest she might misuse government agencies to spy on people? Remember those 900 FBI files she had in her hot little illegal hands? Hmmm...Princess Diana...mysterious death...do we know of any mysterious deaths occurring around the Clintons? Why, indeed we do! Vince Foster, James MacDougal, various people in Arkansas, that guy in Florida who was pardoned by Slick Willie and was found dead recently...there are lots of them. Some people have tabulated dozens! Now stop to consider? Do YOU have any acquaintances who died mysteriously? Probably not. How likely is it that the Clintons have dozens of people associated with them who have died mysterious deaths?

Hmmm...mysterious white Fiat which bumped Princess Diana's Mercedes and possibly caused the crash and which was never found subsequently...I wonder who was involved in that? Was it some person innocently in the tunnel at the same time? Probably! I don't think any reasonably efficient assassin would be trying to catch and crash a Mercedes in a Fiat! On the other hand, people have souped up Hondas and Fiats to reach rather amazing speeds...We've all seen "The Fast and the Furious" with Vin Diesel, haven't we? Well, some of us anyway.

So, was Slick Willie--or Slick Hillie--keeping tabs on Diana for amorous or anti-amorous reasons? Who knows. But it seems POSSIBLE! In the land of probabilities, it seems more likely than the probability that Saddam did NOT have any WMD!
