Dec. 1, 2006 We can take this all the way back to Whoopee Goldberg’s indecent anti-Bush rant that John Kerry labeled “The heart and soul of America ”. We can look at the more vulgar but accepted-into-the-mainstream rap “artists” and their proclivity for extolling booty-calls and police shootings. We can discuss the recent election and the continual digging of dirt and slinging of mud from only the left side of the ditch most every person in congress, left or right, resides in. Civility is gone. Civility left the horse trough the day God was relegated to second-class status by atheistic lawsuit. People ignored the decency and civility built into the Ten Commandments and began all manner of narcissistic “me” isms to take the place of the spiritual gap they opened in their personal lives in their deliberate ignorance. So now we face the weekly drunken spew from the Gibson’s and the De Vito’s followed by the myriad “apologies” and the sundry, media-spun analysis. “Did he mean it this time?” We get the “F” word from a previously respected Hebrew diva; directed at an audience unappreciative of a slanderous skit directed to impugn the President of the United States during a so-called “music” concert. It was nothing more than political advertising coupled with false advertising which for the left is nothing new. We get the “N” word from a previously respected Hebrew comedian; directed at an audience unappreciative of bad jokes. Drunk or sober, civility has been stymied. Former presidents from the left speak against our government from foreign territory. Their supportive talking heads spread anger and bitterness about things they were responsible for but refuse to acknowledge responsibility for. They send the likes of Sandy Berger to make it all better by stuffing classified documents in his shorts; later destroying them. They ignore their own uselessness at leaving hostages in an embassy for 444 days waiting to hand the problem off to the next party in power. They refuse to take custody of a known terrorist killer and pass that off to a subsequent administration and then turn to lay blame where none exists. They create forged documents to counteract real documents describing the cowardly-deceptive actions of a Purple-Heart recipient who shot himself; needing a band-aid. The nation is trying to fight a war and the uncivil protest against America protecting itself from terrorists, charlatans, dictators and cowards who choose appeasement policies and ransom paying over the execution of justice. It is not hard to see who is taking the lead in incivility. We are peppered with innuendo from the leftist media, leftist politicians and leftist Hollywood ; directed at sending signals of liberal ideology throughout the American heartland. Abortion is good. Condom distribution to 4th graders is good. The “Vagina Monologues” in middle school is good. Janet Jackson’s naked breast is not indecent on national television in front of millions of viewers. Drunken rants are only bad if directed at the liberal democratic demographic of African-Americans, Hebrews and Hispanics. Michael Vick flips off an entire stadium of people. The $10,000 fine should have been a dollar a head! Rosie O’Donnell is still on television. You get the idea. I haven’t seen one instance of Rush Limbaugh, Thomas Sowell, Ann Coulter, Charles Krauthammer or Michelle Malkin using a forged document to score political points with the more lunatic Republican fringe. I still haven’t come across an instance where a Republican has refused to resign when found to be corrupt or had an indictment forced out of a reluctant grand jury. (Unlike the many democrats who have feigned innocence, ignorance, or attempted to shift blame to President Bush). “Hey! That money in Jefferson ’s freezer was put there by Karl Rove!” No. Civility has gone the way of religion, honor and decency.
