OK, so I am bummed. I don't mind if I am considered a little naive at times, but I am not a dummy. The internet has become a cesspool of persuasive BS, and somebody is enjoying this.

Guess you have found out too that Mars is NOT coming incredibly close to earth blah blah blah. The pictures were beautiful, and my only comfort is that I did see it as close as it will ever be in my freakin lifetime a few years ago (notice I carefully avoided naming the year so I didn't have to verify).

Anyway http://www.snopes.com and I are going to be good buddies. Oh and by the way toilet water does not change direction south and north of the equator because of the moon etc. That one still bothers me because the explanation is that it is due to the irregular shape of the toilet or drain and not the "Coriolis effect", and my tub drains clockwise, and toilets counter clockwise so it must be true, and another "urban legend" bites the dust. I liked thinking the moon had nothing better to do than dictate the direction of my drains.

If you had your poor kid stand next to your car while you called his cell (and I'm not saying I did), and pointed your fob/door clicker toward the phone, and waited for him to say, "I'm in Mom", you know what I mean. I can still see his angry red face and hear the words, "I told you it wouldn't work mom, you better be glad we waited till dark", (he will get over it). If you didn't fall for this one, you fell for something else, and you know what I mean.

Anyway scientist saw fit to downgrade Pluto from a planet, and since naming the "9" and knowing my states and capitals was about the only proof I had that I went to school I am doubly bummed. I guess tomorrow we will find out that Texas isn't a state or wait, RI just doesn't measure up, and..... well.... Columbus got busted years ago. Is gravity real? Phoebe from friends doesn't believe in gravity, maybe she is right. Is anything sacred?

Come on people, Pluto should be grandfathered in and left the hell alone. Viva Pluto!!!!

Anyway bookmark Snopes.com, verify if you must or just enjoy the fun stuff we were all forwarding before our innocence was snatched, stomped, Googled, verified, and downgraded.....smile :).

Now consider this my blanket disclaimer for all past and future unverified forwards, and please don't take me off of your forward list, I have nothing else...sigh.
