Darrel Martinie also know as the "Cosmic Muffin" has taken a well deserved seat among the Great Star Gazers in the Spirit World. The Professional Astrologer and Famed Radio Talk Personality died in his home after a a three year battle with cancer on July 26, 2006.. He will be missed but his legacy has enriched the Star Gazing Community and beyond.

One of the major challenges that Astrologers deal with is explaining Cosmic happenings in a way that the general public can understand while keeping it interesting for Astrologers. Martinie successfully operated outside of the box by focusing on aspects and angles rather than just the Sun Sign Astrology that everybody reads in horoscopes.. The “sun sign” astrology is just a small part of the tale in the Vast cosmic happenings in the heavens. Aspects and angles affect all folks regardless of sun signs in business and personal and world wide aspects of life.

These shows are remembered by many for the tag line, “It is a wise person who rules the stars, a fool who is ruled by them, over and out. This gives the message that the Stars do not control - they simply give us a Cosmic Weather Report that we can work to our advantage.

In 1993, Massachusetts Governor, William Weld, declared Darrell Martinie, The Cosmic Muffin, official astrologer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a fact which is also an answer in the millennium edition of Trivial Pursuit.

On May of 2004, Mr. Martinie and his life partner of 33 years, Edward Boesel, were the first same sex couple to obtain a marriage license. The Governor declined an inventation to the wedding. Thus the Cosmic Muffin was a pioneer for the gay community in addition to the Astrological Community.
