Aug. 20, 2006 I just read the very interesting AP article: “Chinese Ambassador Urges U.S. to 'Shut Up' About Military Spending”, Friday, August 18, 2006 which begins: “The United States should "shut up" with its concerns about China's growing military spending because the increase is no threat, a Chinese ambassador said Thursday.” I love communists. They are liars but they pretend that everyone else is the liar while they are the only ones telling the truth. Like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro; like Kim Jung Il and Robert Mugabe; like Dick Durbin, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Saddam Hussein and Hilary Clinton; you cannot tell truth from fiction when things emit from their vocal chords. Their various poker-faces show no qualifying emotions with which to judge the validity or worth of their comments about anything. The only real emotion that shines forth from any of their various diatribes is hatred and anger toward one person, the man considered the leader of the “free” world. More from the article: “Sha Zukang, China's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, told British Broadcasting Corp. radio that American concerns about his country's growing military might were misguided.” When China compacts with terrorist states and sells them arms and missiles you have to wonder where the free world should be considered “misguided” in thinking China might be lying about its intentions. When China threatens a democratic Taiwan with immediate war and occupation if they even think about declaring independence from the mainland communists, one asks how one is “misguided” in believing Communist China can’t be trusted. More from the article: “Sha said the world need not worry about China's growing economic and military might because "China basically is a peace-loving nation. China's military buildup is not threatening anyone," Sha said. "This is a legitimate defense." Threats to Taiwan are not a “defense. Locking away dissidents and suppressing free speech and faith is not “peace-loving”. The Chinese Ambassador is a liar but again he believes his beloved Communist China is the right country all others should be bowing to. From the article: “China's 2.3 million-member People's Liberation Army is the world's largest fighting force, and Beijing has alarmed its neighbors with double-digit percentage increases in military spending nearly every year for a decade.” But to this the Chinese Ambassador is quoted: "It's better for the U.S. to shut up," Sha said. "Keep quiet. It's much, much better." Okay; I might agree we have nothing to say about China if our economy and government wasn’t so tied up with theirs right now. The Chinese hold a lot of American debt and they have greatly benefited from the theft of American technology. I read an article just today where the Communist Government failed to warn a region of their nation of an approaching Typhoon and hundreds more died than are being reported. (Villagers question China toll in typhoon, AP) They allow their population to suffer through the natural disasters that are becoming the everyday occurrences in China while ensuring the military is protected and well fed. (Shades of North Korea) I know there is a diplomatic effort to make China more open about its military intentions, but you do not need a mind reader or tea leaves to tell you that China is neither peace-loving nor merely being defensive. You have to ask yourself what country could possibly challenge China militarily in this age and then ask yourself if that is at all possible. The answers are America and No. The next questions would be which nation in the world is building itself past any reasonable defensive posture, is being diplomatically secretive yet aggressive and is selling weaponry to America’s Middle-Eastern and South American enemies? Which nation will disallow any reasonable scrutiny of its intentions for war and possible aggression and threatens actions if any scrutiny is determined? Which nation is telling America it would be “Much, much better to keep quiet.” And allow it to build itself into a worldwide threat?
