Bush-Hatred Is Dangerous--To America

Long,long ago in a galaxy far, far away--no, wait, it was just a few months ago,right here on the pages of U-K (http://www.useless-knowledge.com/1234/06mar/article297.html)--I made the brilliant point that Bush-hatred and the reflexive opposition to all his policies was preventing effective prosecution of the war on terror, not to mention hampering other government duties.

Now it seems that others with more famous names and more bully pulpits have noticed.

In a piece today, "Bush Phobia May Prove Fatal," Daniel Henninger reiterates what I said.

"Even allowing for election needs, why is it not possible for the congressional Democratic Party and its Amen corner in the punditocracy and blogosphere to overcome their George Bush phobia here? They should allow the creation of a civil-liberties regime that will genuinely (not hopefully) reduce our exposure to the risks now being rolled up by the surveillance and arrests in London.

The foiling of the plot in Britain was a kind of public-policy miracle, a rare chance to rethink. The U.S. could have spent the past week with 4,000 funerals. We would have had calls for measures so stringent and draconian they would make the Bush program look like pattycake. We have none of that. But unless our politics changes, we will. "

The Democratic hatred of Bush--vile, virulent, irrational--is as psychotic as the irrational hatred of Jews by the Islamic fanatics. Indeed, the Democratic hatred of Bush has caused many of them to agree with positions held by the terrorists. Come to think of it, I've written about that before, too.

Democrats have even become, in effect, anti-Semitic bigots, taking the anti-Israeli position knee-jerkingly. Heck, they even agree with Pat Buchanan now! How crazy is that? Almost as insane as Buchanan choosing a running mate who was an avowed Socialist when he ran a few years ago.

Politics and politicians used to be merely hypocritical panderers. It is really scary now that they have become certifiably insane. and it's going to get people killed. Possibly lots and lots of people. And the initial deaths will be Americans or Israelis. And then we'll have to kill all the Muslims.

Bush-hatred is also dangerous to Muslims, ultimately.
