Aug. 16, 2006 The headline was: “Report: Casey planning troop cuts” – subtitled: “Plan calls for number of U.S. brigades to be cut to 5 by 2007” by Jeff Schogol of the “Stars and Stripes”. The so-called report begins: “The head of U.S. forces in Iraq has created a plan to reduce the number of U.S. brigades in that country…” But the so-called report admits that the “New York Times” originated this report, quote: “…citing unnamed sources…” that went to the Times with information supposedly gleaned from “…a classified briefing at the Pentagon.” In other words, the report was either fabricated or the Times is paying someone to leak classified information that could possible damage the war effort. A “coalition spokesman” was quoted saying: “We cannot confirm an unnamed source’s version of a classified briefing.” It would be interesting to know the name of the source so we could check his socks and underwear to ensure he isn’t a relative of Sandy Berger or Bill Clinton (the formerly impeached philanderer-in-chief). But it is good to see the New York Times has not ceased its relentless and subversive activities against the government. A story on the following day shed a little more light on the complicity of the media in undermining the war effort with the aid of Congressional Democrats. It was: “White House plays down talk of troop cuts”, June 27th, no byline, but a claim that the AP and The Washington Post “contributed to this report”. This article began: “President Bush brushed aside reports that the United States is planning sharp troop withdrawals from Iraq, beginning in September.” I can remember when the Army first entered Iraq. Liberals cried there were not enough troops! The coalition was too unilateral! There was no exit plan! Now General Casey is working as any good general should to ensure a proper and valid withdrawal of forces when the time is right; not when the democrats demand. To quote: “Bush told reporters, “And one of the things General Casey assured me of was that whatever recommendation he makes, it’ll be aimed toward achieving victory…and victory means a free government that is able to sustain itself; defend itself.” Let’s look at the timeline. Liberal democrats in the Congress start calling for immediate surrender in the face of victory. Republicans say no; we have a goal of seeing a free government in Iraq able to defend itself before we pull out. The President tasks General Casey to work out his plan. General Casey completes his planning. To quote the article: “Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif, said the alleged [leaked] plan resembles the thinking of many Democrats who voted for a nonbinding resolution to begin troop drawdown in December (2006).” Quoting: “Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., one of the two sponsors of the nonbinding resolution, which offered no pace or completion date for the withdrawal, said the report [not alleged report] is another sign of what he termed one of the “worst-kept secrets in town” – that the administration intends to pull out troops before the midterm elections in November.” Both Senators are concerned that the Bush Administration might actually start pulling out troops without giving adequate political credit to the crybabies that were only months ago calling for “immediate” surrender and retreat. So the anonymous” and “unconfirmed” sources of “classified” leaks strike again and the liberals are now heckling Bush because the Pentagon may be developing the very exit plan that the liberals screamed about not having on the very first day of the Battle of Iraq! The liberal media reports on “classified” financial intelligence, “classified” telephonic intelligence and now, “classified” troop movements. Terrorists have renewed their subscriptions to the New York Times, The Washington Post and the Stars and Stripes.
