Aug. 12, 2006 Three short news articles reiterate the sorry state of morality and the political ineptitude evolving in liberalism’s newly revamped world-wide culture. The first: “New U.N. Rights Group to Review Alleged Abuse” is a three paragraph gem that states: “The new U.N. Human Rights Council [which replaced the old, worthless, worn out and ineffective former council] voted to dedicate time during each future session [just like it did in every session of the older council] to a review of alleged human rights abuses by Israel [only, and not Zimbabwe or China or Russia or North Korea or any Muslim country or Cuba or Venezuela or any other dictatorship] a move criticized [but greatly ignored] by the United States [the only true supporter of human rights] as misguided and unfair [when they should have labeled the action what it was – another form of United Nations’ anti-Semitism]. Paragraph two: “The resolution which [like all UN resolutions of this type] was sponsored by Islamic countries, [naturally, because no Islamic country agrees that Israel has any right to exist] was passed by a vote of 29-12 with five abstentions. [That’s 29 anti-Semite nations and five nations that are weenies that straddle fences when it comes to declaring whether or not they are racist]. “It effectively revives a practice of the UN’s dissolved Human Rights Commission [the former, worthless entity that failed to stop United Nations’ anti-Semitism] which also reviewed alleged Israeli abuses [not Zimbabwean, Chinese, North Korean, Venezuelan, or Cuban] every time it met.” Paragraph three: “Israel protested Friday’s vote, calling it a perpetuation of “the old, infamous habits” of the widely discredited commission. [When they had every right to be less tactful in their response to this revival of Islamic-led anti-Semitic gibberish.] This article came in from Arizona. “Violent incidents with immigrant smugglers rise” which read simply: “Smugglers are becoming more violent in their attempts to sneak immigrants past the Mexican border. Some Border Patrol trucks have metal grates to protect against rock-throwing smugglers. The Border Patrol’s Yuma sector is on pace to exceed the 123 assaults on agents reported last fiscal year.” I don’t recall reading of one instance of legal immigration where the legal immigrants took rocks and threw them at police or customs agents. Isn’t “assault” a form of attack? Well it isn’t such a stretch then to call those illegal attackers “invaders”. These invaders are being protected when they should probably be arrested, tried, convicted and jailed, just like ordinary American citizens who “assault” an officer of the law in the performance of his duties. Finally, I was saddened but not greatly surprised to see this in from New York: “Pioneer same-sex couple have decided to separate” which began: “The lesbian couple whose lawsuit ultimately led to legal same-sex marriage in Massachusetts have announced they have separated.” Quote: “Julie and Hillary Goodridge are amicably living apart…” [as opposed to amicably living together as a normally committed heterosexual couple might]. “Julie Goodridge declined to comment…” [but hired a political spokesperson] who said the couple wanted “privacy” for the sake of their ten-year-old daughter [and, of course, because this split ads another black eye to same-sex unions].
