Aug. 11, 2006 “The Los Angeles Times” – “Iraq unites to condemn Israeli attacks in Lebanon” by Borzou Daragahi – First paragraph: “Though embroiled in a bloody war over the future shape and identity of their country, Iraq’s Sunni Arabs, Shiites, Kurds and even Christians have unified in condemning Israel in the face of its fight in Lebanon with the Hezbollah militia.” In the Arab world of “Zionist aggression” against Arabs it is no surprise that all Arabs, being related by their anti-Semitism, would “condemn” Israel. But this article ensured we all could read Hezbollah’s chief war-cry, “Death to America” followed by “Death to Israel” followed by quotes from seminaries in the city of Najaf like: “…their aim is to enslave and humiliate us. What’s happening…is part of a bigger scheme to crush the blessed (Islamic) nation.” And this quote: “America didn’t come to the country [Iraq] for our sake. America came with a pure Zionist agenda.” What is exceptionally sad is that these various Arab groups are all at war with each other. They kill each others babies and rape each other’s women. Iraq is not united. Iraq is so convoluted that it condemns Israel for wanting peace while they exhibit no particular desire for peace in Iraq. America would pack its bags and go home tomorrow if Iraqis could find a way to stop killing their own people, calm down, and actually form a working government. Sanitizing terrorism by calling Hezbollah a “militia” doesn’t much help matters either. Then the headline: “Iraqi militia recruiting fighters to go to Lebanon”, July 25th, “Stars and Stripes”, no byline began: “A senior member of Muqtada al-Sadr’s Iraqi Shiite militia, the Mahdi Army, says the group is forming a squadron of up to 1500 elite fighters to go to Lebanon.” (As reported in the Washington Times). Good old MOOKIE! That chubby, little, puke-faced, bin-Laden-wannabe has been ordering his “Mahdi Army” to provoke Americans since the American Army first entered Iraq. That Shiite tub-o-Islamic-lard should have been pushing up virgins for two years now. Instead, that creep-faced Koran mis-interpreteer is offering bodies to Hezbollah’s effort. I hope he chokes on his next bucket of KFC extra-crispy! Meanwhile the headline: “Former Taliban envoy says he was mistreated at Gitmo” by Paul Garwood of the AP caught my attention because the article took up almost two thirds of a Bush-bashing page in the “Stripes”. Anyway, Abdul Salam Zaeef has written a book about the horrors he faced in Guantanamo, having received special Islamic meals, a brand new Koran written in his own language, a brand new prayer rug with five exact prayer times a day and a caring crew of Americans who ensured he didn’t commit suicide before being released in 2005 because: “I want the world to know the truth.” [Other than the truth listed above]. Quoting the article: “Zaeef says he suffers from depression and anxiety as a result of his time in U.S. custody…” But of course he doesn’t write about any of those who suffered beheadings while in Taliban custody. This poor, poor “soft-spoken former Taliban envoy…” was the jovial, bearded ragamuffin who held “…daily news conferences at the Afghan embassy in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, to rail against American attacks on his country”. This, of course, was the country that supported al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden and his buddies. I would cry for Mr. Zaeef if he was not such a supporter of murder and Islamic lunacy. Two somewhat related headlines cheered me up. The first: “Senate rejects calls to withdraw troops from Iraq” by Liz Sidot of the AP, contained this quote: “Withdrawal is not an option. Surrender is not a solution.” Declared Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee, who characterized Democrats [correctly I might add] as defeatists wanting to abandon Iraq before the mission is complete.” To which Democrat Russ Feingold replied: “It is time to tell the Iraqis that we have done what we can do militarily”; which certainly sounds “defeatist” to me! And the second headline: “Rumsfeld reiterates: No troop reductions in Iraq” by Stephen J. Hedges of the Chicago Tribune whom I quote: “…no reduction is planned and the military force could even grow.” Good. Formerly impeached President Bill Clinton set the bar when he sent troops into the former Yugoslavia to quell sectarian violence between the Bosnians, Serbians, Croatians and the Kosovars. Thanks to touchy-feely Democrats America has been stuck with a legacy that will not allow America to turn away from Muslims who enjoy killing each other for the simple pleasure of labeling someone an infidel. Go figure. Now Democrats are saying it is time to let all these Arabs have each other’s throats. And as much as that idea appeals to me, I say we can leave Iraq when we can finally leave the former and now very splintered Yugoslavia. ------------ About the Author: Michael John McCrae has contributed over 500 articles to Useless-Knowledge.com.
