Aug. 10, 2006 Like a gunner shooting wildly in the dark, U-K columnist Fred Smith fires claims at John Waters but misses the mark. For example, Fred states that John is "against science and scientists." John is not against either science or scientists. John simply notes some flaws in what certain scientists or advocates of science say or do. Neither is John against Fred Smith because Fred makes numerous spelling errors as well as false accusations against John and other persons. John isn't out to attack the man. John simply questions the self-styled authority of Fred or any other person who tries to impose a certain way as the one and only way or truth. Fred needs to breathe deep and let other people breathe as well. The fact is John Waters owes his life to medical science, and John also owes his life to a "divine" cognitive faculty that isn't reason, memory, or some other skill reinforced by conventional pedagogy. This extra faculty has been called by many names, but it is not yet clearly understood by traditional science teachers or other promoters of science. John says beware of any self-styled authority who is in fact ignorant about this faculty and/or atrophied in his or her own use of this faculty and who dismisses this subject as a valid field of research. Professional researchers in psychology need to define this extra faculty, not scorn it, poke fun at it, or just dismiss it as evidence of a "psychosis." If you studied meditation and became adept at meditation, a strong yogi would transmit to you the yogic sense of wholeness, connectedness, and illumination. This is the sensibility a strong yogi transmits to a disciple who is adept at meditation. For example, in the following quote a student of Adi Da named Molly Jones describes this yogic transmission: "It was as though someone had turned on 10,000 lights. The actual physical light in the tent had not changed, but the vibratory level of energy went way, way up, and it was visible as a form of light emanating from Avatara Adi Da's body..... Everyone was singing and gazing at Avatara Adi Da. He looked fiercely around the room, resting his Gaze on different people as He slowly moved His head. I felt His Love absolutely, without qualification." (Quote from Molly Jones, and taken from Beyond Comprehension, a story of one devotee's first encounter with Avatara Adi Da. P.27 from the booklet "An Introduction To Adi Da. As for seeing the yogic light, for centuries certain wise teacher-poets have taught that humans live in a cave and the person who gets out of the cave and lives in the world of light finds it difficult to teach persons who are used to the cave life. The strong yogi transmits the yogic perception directly into each cave dweller and brings these persons out into the light. There are not many strong yogis today, though, and so there needs to be a bridge-builder and helper who helps people understand this subject in relatively simple language. More progressive people need to be interested in this subject. What is this yogic light? you ask. What is the realm beyond the cave? What unites all yogis or spiritual beings who live in the light and transmit the light? Well, to answer this question accurately we need professional scientists and other intellectuals to address this issue, not non-adept skeptics who just shoot blindly in the dark as they think they can scare John Waters off or shoot his arguments full of holes. That's like bluffing in poker. It won't work. Too much bluffing and soon you've lost the match. Argumentation is NOT direct wordless perception. If you can't walk the science walk and test the process, then don't talk the science talk. Furthermore, don't be like t411sh and call something or someone "crazy" or "psychotic" just because, like the outspoken skeptic Eddie Tabash, you stopped your search for enlightenment and turned into a sour grapes skeptic. Read Tabash's Confessions of a former mystic, take a deep breath, go to a qualified teacher and learn meditation, and then visit a strong yogi and feel the yogi's unitive power. Testing this process of opening up to the "no mind" stillness and the accompanying perception will help you identify with a grain of sand or any other object or person you presently scarcely notice...yes, even with someone who fancies he is your foe. Indeed, your brain activity will change. Your vision will brighten. The vision of Gopi Krishna, Swami Muktananda, Adi Da and other strong yogis might only be due to extraordinary brain activity. So what? The human brain is mighty important and the evolution of human intelligence is not yet over. To know the whole truth about this subject, a lot more testing is needed. Whether ordinary or extraordinary, human brains are a part of existence, and the achievements of so-called "God-inspired" persons are legendary. Why should the blind eye of science remain incapacitated any longer? Open up, Fred. Commune. ------------ About the author: sixty-six years young, and vigorous in mind, body, emotions, and spirit, John L. Waters is an independent researcher on self-healing, integration, creativity, and unity. To help demonstrate the effectiveness of his research, John has created thousands of drawings, paintings, instrumental music pieces, songs, prose pieces, poems, and other inventions. John has used his research to help persons remove a mental block and solve a problem. John also gives personal presentations which illustrate his research results. Each one of these works demonstrates the effectiveness of John's research.
