Enemies Of Mankind?

By John L. Waters
Apr. 29, 2006

In his/her April 26th U-K article "Christianity, Islam, And Judaism: Enemies Of Mankind" t411sh has attacked and divided humanity up into four distinct camps, each armored by its dogmas and its practices: Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and t411hs's "Philosophy." By attacking three kinds of religious people, however, t411sh only hardens their already stiff resistance. One therefore questions his/her strategy.

I also have some difficulties concerning t114sh's "Philosophy." For example, in the same way the venerable Aristotle was more armchair philosopher, teacher, and encyclopedist and theorist par excellence, imagining so many things differently from reality, the dogmatic t411sh wishes humans were different from the way humans really are, so that they are imagined to be content with the FACTS and the REASONS that his/her secular humanism site promotes. In reality, human brains are much much much more complex than just always being 100% factual and 100% reasonable. For example, many humans simply adore poetry. Many humans dream. Most humans have vivid imaginations. Most humans play, and many humans pray. Young humans also adore and follow exemplary characters like Legion of Superheroes and similar characters real or imaginary. Putting this on an adult level, many religious adults revere Christ. Many professional mathematicians revere Euler. Many professional physicists revere Newton. Many professional biologists revere Darwin. Some politicians still revere Marx. Modern humanity is immensely complex. Wishful thinking doesn't alter human reality.

Here's another difficulty. On his/her website t411sh promotes the following: "A philosophy is at the core of every thinking being. It is what gives us our opinions and beliefs, and is what motivates our actions through each waking day. We must adhere to philosophies that put humanity first so that we are one with the paths put forth by our evolution." -- Chapter II:4

I need to know... how can a person adhere to two or more "philosophies"? If there are two DIFFERENT philosophies, a clear thinker must adhere to one philosophy, or to the other philosophy, or to neither philosophy. Consequently how can a single person adhere to "philosophies"? Without penetrating any further into t411sh's website, I am already baffled by his/her English.

Here's another difficulty. What does it mean "we are one with the paths put forth by our evolution."? In reviewing what I know about evolution, this phrase isn't clear. How can evolution "put forth" anything? Before birth and after birth hundreds of billions of humans have struggled to survive, but relatively few actually did survive long enough to help perpetuate the race. The relatively few human survivors are what put forth a great effort, not the abstract term "evolution." Also, certainly the three major faiths mentioned in the title of t411sh's article are paths (actually they are highways!) that billions of humans have followed over the last 4000 years of human evolution.

In reading more text on t411sh's site, I encounter many more difficulties. In fact the site doesn't convince me that secular humanism offers any improvement over the present human state. Indeed, other poets might see secular humanism as yet one more hardened and armored juggernaut thrusting itself up higher and higher penis-like in a world already saturated with human testosterone, tears, sweat, and blood.

O, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

Facing reality, we need to note that Mohammed, the Founder of Islam, (Peace be unto Him) strengthened Arabia by uniting the many floundering tribes of that geographical region. If secular humanists really expect to win the hearts of billions of people and actually unite humanity and thereby enable their teachings to prevail, then secular humanists need to appeal to millions of modern leaders in every nation and in every religious faith, and not just in the three faiths that t411sh mentions in his abusive article. Somehow t411sh has forgotten the goal of secular humanism, that is to convert the masses. This is what is required to abolish religion, which is what so many secular humanists say they want to do.

We can't help but note that by alienating so many well-meaning people, t411sh demonstrates blatant ignorance and totally sinks his/her promotion effort. I actually find the article laughable.

How will the secular humanists ever convert humanity? If the secular humanists can't give a truly testable answer, then secular humanism is a wasted effort. What humanity needs is the new way of thinking that unites both thinking people and people who feel more than think, the idea called for in the Wikepedia quote below:

"We have to learn to think in a new way". The Russell-Einstein-Manifesto was an ultimate calling for a new way of thinking that would guarantee war, in the future, to be completely banned as an instrument of politics and conflict resolution."

To really set us up for roof-rending rounds of belly laughter, chapter XI of t411sh's long dogmatic text "The Eleven Chapters of Life" degenerates into prophecy which is at least as fairy-tale-fantastic as any prophecy in The Bible! For example, "Future generations will have the technology to bring us back into existence after we die." Is that for billions of poor people or is it only for the fabulously wealthy few? And what's the proof? Why should anyone believe this story? The whole text is full of inconsistencies, errors, and it REEKS of hypocrisy.

In 1955 there was no issue more important than the issue that Einstein-Russell Manifesto addressed. But Russell was a theoretical mathematician, and Einstein was a theoretical physicist. These men had no professional interest or training in human psychology, and neither did their esteemed elitist followers. We're still living in this socio-cultural disconnect of disintegrated and elitist academic education. In his book "The Human Situation" Aldous Huxley noted this serious problem in 1959, but so what? Huxley was only a prophetic novelist comparable to Moses. Yeah, and like Moses, Aldous Huxley sometimes even hallucinated. In 1955 the hard scientists paid no serious attention to such men. Now, fifty years later, in his long essay on his "philosophy," t411sh hobbles along on the same lame prejudice. This lameness simply doesn't work. Facts and reasons aren't enough to solve the worsening human problem BECAUSE there is also something called the human heart.

So wake up, dude, and hear the birdies sing.

As regards this submission, this is my revision number five, and doubtless contains some nittie errors. U-K critics will just have to tolerate my errors. Humanity really needs to be concerned about human survival, and in human survival, nitties aren't a tenth as important as titties.
