Apr. 25, 2005 It is absolutely incredible that any literate person is so ignorant as to maintain that the US and Israel are not aggressors in the Middle East. Are we to assume that Jews have resided peacefully in Israel for centuries and that Palestinians, appearing as if from nowhere, have occupied and deforced Jewish lands? Are we to assume that hundreds of thousands of Jews were made refugees because of Palestinian encroachments? Are we to assume that Iraq invaded the US, for absolutely no good reason, on the basis of a pack of lies invented by their leaders? Are we to assume that Iraqis, armed to the teeth, are all over the US, wreaking mayhem? Did the people of St. Louis, having killed four Iraqi mercenaries, bring down the wrath of Iraq and witness their city bombed and destroyed, as they fled for safety? Sandbaugh, trying unsuccessfully to make intelligent commentary, argues, “People who are sympathetic to the cause of a Palestinian homeland probably don’t realize they are supporting terrorism and murder. I can understand this ignorance seeing the state of the mainstream media and the world’s collective hatred toward anything Jewish. It is naturally the fault of Jews and George Bush for anything detrimental that happens in the world…I call this ‘Sympathy for the Devil’. The aggressors are not America and Israel. Both those countries fight defensively.” His ironic observation that anything detrimental to the world is the fault of Jews and George Bush is an absolute pile of nonsense. What he is trying to do is pretend that anyone who understands the wrongs done the Palestinians is blaming Jews and George Bush for all the world’s evil. Since obviously Jews and Bush aren’t to blame for everything, Sandbaugh thinks he has created the illusion that he has debunked the attitude of those who would like to see the Palestinians’ grievances redressed. His idea is to refute a preposterous argument that no one made in the first place, demolishing with it a legitimate argument that he doesn’t have intellectual powers to understand. To say that the Palestinians were swindled out of Palestine by the Jews is not to blame Jews for all the evils in the world. Sandbaugh fails to address the real issue, creating a straw man instead. He is saying, “Jews are not responsible for all the evils of the world. Therefore, they are not responsible for any of the evils of the world.” He claims that the ignorance that he fatuously ascribes to the those desirous of justice in the Middle East is due to the bias of the media, which inculcate hatred of Jews, but this view is a screaming outrage in view of the fact that the mainstream media in the US are all run by Jews and their sympathizers and bias the news in favor of Israel, rather than vice versa. Where are the pro-Arab counterparts of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, David Frum, Jonathan Goldberg, William Kristol, Victor Hanson, Charles Krauthammer, William F. Buckley, Max Boot, James Taranto, Michael Ledeen. Clifford May, Ann Coulter, etc., etc.? Sandbaugh must be blind and deaf, as well as neurotic and retarded, to assert that the mainstream media are biased in favor of Arabs. All one has to do is look into the fate of Mearsheimer and Walt’s recent “Israel Lobby”, an essay critical of Jewish manipulation of US Middle East policy, to see that it got no publicity at all and cost Walt his deanship, to understand that Jews are the media. They allow token pro-Arab coverage, to deceive credulous Gentiles, like Sandbaugh, into thinking that they’re being fair or even pro-Arab. To top it all off, Sandbaugh’s reference to the Devil is not just a figure of speech. Looking back into Sandbaugh’s earlier articles, one can see that he is a Christian fundamentalist, or something like that. Quoth he, “Those who would write about the ignorance of Christians just because they don’t trust certain sciences to save their spirit don’t know what they are talking about. When they begin their debates and arguments by first denigrating those they disagree with it will never matter what follows from their mouth or their pen. Their heart is known and the hatred is apparent. One should never try to debate through anger.” He’s imputing hatred to those who realize that Christianity is a hoax, and of course we know that hatred is not consistent with Christianity, for supposedly Christ said, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love they neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you.” Sandbaugh will be the first to call Jesus a liar, though, when it comes to the Arabs and Muslims that he hates: “This is why I now can only claim full disgust for anything Arab, Muslim and Islamic. I can readily see that all these Middle East countries are amenable to jihad. They love jihad. They live for jihad. The more innocents that die at the hands of Islamic murderers the more pastries baked to celebrate the events.” Are these the words of a man who loves his enemies? The lamentable part is not so much that he hates his enemies, in spite of Jesus’ injunction to love his enemies, but that he hates them for things they never did. He says that all these Middle East countries are amenable to jihad. Has this man ever been in Egypt, for example? The overwhelming majority of Egyptians are meek, friendly, honest and loyal, and know absolutely nothing of jihad. But this clown sees a newscast from the comfort of his couch, and goes into a fustian of benighted hatred that would make a Nazi blush. ------------ About the author Thomas Keyes: I have written two books: A SOJOURN IN ASIA (non-fiction) and A TALE OF UNG (fiction), neither published so far.
