Apr. 20, 2006 Star Jones, Monique, Roseanne O'connor, Queen Latifah...do you know what all these women have in common? Shucks, I'm glad you asked! They're all plus- sized celebrities. Not just any plus-sized celebs...they're icons! These women are a direct image and representation of big women all over the nation! These women give hope and empowerment to plus sized females everywhere! So let me ask you another question! Why all of a sudden are these big b!tches becoming skinny now? There was a time when Monique or Roseanne would make a skinny chic feel dumb for being a size four! But now....a couple years, and a few tummy tucks later these chics have surfaced to the top...and look pretty damn good too! For example, I was watching The View with grannie this mornin' and Star Jones looked pretty good to a brother yo! for real! I was like danng! Who is this pulchritudinous lady here! I had to blink twice and shake my head! Now I understand we live in a society that stresses and emphasizes the opulence of things! And weight (in conjunction with "image") falls right into play! However, these chics were called to be FAT icons! FLAT OUT!!!! No ifs, and's, or buts about it homie. I mean over there in Africa Minute Bol and the family would've loved a big robust chic like Star. But noooooooooo, she just hadddd to visit Dr. 90210 for the cut & sew man! But like my mentor told me..."it is, what it is" So My point of this blog was to (1) Fuss for the hell of it (2) Give these women a hard time (3) Show people that you can't be selfish, watch the way you live fam...because you never know whos really watchin or lookin up to you!
