Apr. 12, 2006 On TV you always see feuding couples hurling plates at each other, and it's something that I've always wanted to do, but I'm afraid of lawsuits and I hate cleaning up. At the Isdaan restaurant in the Philippines, patrons or anyone else can fling plates at the "wall of fury" with targets labeled ex-wife, boss, lover and loan shark. It will cost you about 30 cents to hurl a plate, a bit more if you want to toss a vase, bowl or even an old TV set. This is a wonderful idea that needs to be imported to this country, it's a cost-effective method of anger management. If Mike Tyson hurled a few plates and a TV set or two at a "wall of fury" perhaps Evander Holyfield would not be walking around with a mangled ear. The restaurant in the Philippines has generic targets like ex-wife and boss, but in America we are more "in your face" and any "wall of fury" should include a few specific targets like President George W. Bush and Jerry Falwell. It looks like Sen. Russ Feingold's call to censure Bush isn't going anywhere, I should at least have the satisfaction of hurling a TV set at the smirking mug shot of Dubya on a "wall of fury." Too many of us sit down and eat with unresolved issues, that's a recipe for heartburn and indigestion. If a quarreling couple hurl plates at targets labeled "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" before enjoying a meal at a nice restaurant, it will make for a more enjoyable dining experience. Honky-tonks should also have an exterior "wall of fury", before going home patrons could relieve themselves of stress by relieving themselves on their favorite targets.
