Dec. 30, 2005 Discovery, mystery, individuality, business, government and life: everything has a summit. All things have a beginning. From the beginning there is growth. The growth lasts through a peak or a summit. Eventually there is age and decline until the end is achieved either through complete success, complete failure or a passing of the torch to a successor. The one exception to this is God. God is the beginning. He is also the ending. God is declared the same, yesterday, today and forever. He does not change and no matter where God is or what time God works, that is the summit. History is a guide and a teacher. We know of the many great civilizations built by men that for a while held sway over expansive empires. These empires would flourish until other empires found means to knock their rivals from their summits. Many times the succeeding empire found it necessary to destroy every visage of its rival to prevent any resurgence of what they may have found personally unappealing. Archaeology is rediscovering some of these empires and dynasties. Scientists are piecing as much as can be pieced together to establish a coherent history of these forgotten races. The facts being found suggest a summit for each before their eventual disappearance. The pattern of beginning, summit and decline is apparent in all the known civilizations, all the major business ventures of the modern age and those marked as individual movers of history. Pick any personality, any king or judge, any name that satisfies the role of “star” or “hero” or even “tyrant” and that individual will fit the pattern. With one exception: “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) There is only one name that satisfies every requirement for eternal existence. This individual has been spoken of for millennia and his name hasn’t been tarnished by the myriad attacks against him or his accomplishments. Prophets foretold his advent hundreds of years before his birth. The first blood sacrifices of men were done as a pointed reference to the “Lamb of God” who was responsible to take away the sin of the world. When God finally appeared in the form of flesh he continued a personal relationship with man that had begun at the first human. He reasoned, he taught, he cajoled, he insisted and he caused men to believe again. When he left the earth he did not leave the earth without his presence or his message. He is the life and the light of every believer. He is Jesus. The Book of Revelations reveals Jesus as the beginning and the ending; the very first and the very last. Nothing exists or holds together except through the express will of the creator. There is no other name. There will never be any other name. Everything has a summit. God the Son is the summit. He is from the beginning and has worked in every age of man to ensure at least a remnant of human faithful would carry his message of hope. It doesn’t matter that not all men believe. What matters is that some do. What matters is that the truth is told, believed and received into the human heart. What matters is that God is not ignored. From the time of the first man God has been known personally and directly. Each man is very much responsible for his own relationship with God. Once the relationship is established, the individual has reached a summit that will never falter or fail. Wherever God is, that is the summit, and that summit is eternal. ------------ Email Skip: skiptoomaloo@hotmail.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
