Dec. 21, 2005 Our friends [Democrats] over on the dark side seem to have their accusations caught in the middle of a dilemma. We find that spying on American citizens without court approval goes back to Presidents Clinton and Carter and probably as far back as Andy Jackson. This comes as no surprise. The last persons in the world anyone would consult if they wanted to keep secrets are politicians, lawyers, and judges. Is anyone surprised our intelligence community operates in the dark? They do things they don’t consult with politicians and the media on for reasons of national security. . What is it between C and T in covert Democrats don’t understand? What is it between S and S in secrets Democrats don’t understand? What is it between assuming facts and knowing facts Democrats don’t understand? There must be something Democrats don’t understand they keep getting it wrong and then have to do a 180 in retreat and go at something else with equal idiocy. Robert Byrd’s been in the US Senate longer than Jack Daniels ages it’s Premium Bourbon and he’s shocked, shocked, shocked the government keep secrets. If Harry Read made that statement, we could understand it normal. Harry has the attention span of a Turkey. But Robert Byrd who quotes scriptures from personal memory should know better than to go off on that false rant on collecting data within the intelligence community. That’s why they’re called undercover spies Bob. Hypocrisy: A Special Prosecutor just completed an extensive investigation into the supposed outing of a CIA undercover agent who wasn’t rally an undercover agent after all. Several lives were ruined. Careers were put in jeopardy all for nothing. Nothing substantive came from the investigation. Now Democrats are spreading national security secrets all over the media with impunity. Who-da-thunk we have men and women in congress who are do disrespectful of our government and have such little regard for the peoples security. they’ll use national secrets for political gain? Only a Liberal Democrat would stoop that low. Democrats rather than negotiate / compromise with Republicans want it their way or no way. I can’t say many Americans are comfortable with all the nuances in the Patriot Act. Most Americans know the country is safer today than when Bill Clinton was President. That’s due largely to the Patriot Act and Homeland Security. When the wall goes back up between intelligence communities and law enforcement sharing information, will Democrats accuse President Bush for not connecting the dots? It’s obvious Democrats are more concerned with discrediting the president than winning the war on terror or protecting the American public. I hope they realize this isn’t a wining strategy in the coming election. FOOT NOTE Is it possible Howard Dean is advising Sadam Hussein on courtroom decorum. There seems to be an obvious similarity between the two men’s presentations. ------------ About the author: Ken Hughes joined the Republican Party at the age of three.
