Take A Photo With Jesus At The Mall

By Judy Ramsook
Dec. 8, 2005

Picture this, you are dreaming that you have walked into a mall. But on this day, you spot a strange and unusual sight. First you see the usual Santa line with many people waiting with their children for their few moments with the jolly individual in the red suit, but next to this line with the jolly Santa is another guy dressed up in another type of garment. A type of clothing that is indicative of the kind Jesus wore. But the Jesus line is slow in becoming as long as the Santa one.

And as long as we are supposed to be practising political correctness, why not have the two significant figures of Christmas present at the same venue. One represents the gift giving, (Santa) and the other stands for the occasion itself, Jesus’s birthday.

Or is more correctness needed? Because in this vast world in which we all are, there are also many religious sectors and belief systems, most of which do not recognise Jesus as their religious icon.

Moreover, it is a world in which some people are having enough issues with the Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays greeting, and if that is taking up so much time on the national evening news now, what might transpire in the next fifty or sixty years from the present time as the globe seeks to become more and more politically correct? Will the entire Christmas festivity be phased out as a result?

Or will the guy in the red suit reign supreme as King of that special day? And while the dream state is influencing you into thinking such things, another thing occurs just before you awake; the Jesus figure in the dream turns to look at you as you walk by him in the mall.

And you shudder on turning away, for what if such a thing were to occur in all reality. Such a thing as some one being daring enough to actually place a Jesus figure next to the Santa one in a local mall, hoping to draw the same type of attention Santa does minus all the gift giving and pertinent requests. Would a mall goer also be daring enough to want to take a photo with the person dressed up as Jesus?
