Dec. 5, 2005 My congratulations to Dennis for being voted Columnist Of The Year. I am drinking a beer right now in your honor. I hope you don’t mind? I must say I admire your journeys across this globe of ours. I’ve been out of the country once, Juarez doesn’t count, and that was with a steel helmet on. I’d like to go to Europe, without the helmet of course, but I’m afraid they would stop me at the airport and mistake my pacemaker for a bomb. Anyhow, I admire also your tenacious and bodacious writing style. I hope to see you swimming with the big boys at the Washington Post one of these days. Although, lately I’ve been wondering if the Post is as par excellent as they once were.
Writing for U-K is a privilege and you kind sir, treat it as such. Should Useless Knowledge make a transition to a different format, your writing will always ring with relevance. May the wind always be at your backside moving you forever towards your rainbow. Nice job. (I was just joking about the rainbow...I added it for a kind of literary nuance).
