Democrats Love A Dictator

By Craig Chamberlain
Dec. 5, 2005

Never mind their constant love fest for Fidel Castro, or their apologizing for Hugo Chavez. Democrats seem to love any anti american dictator they can find. 41% of democrats say Iraq would be better off if Saddam Hussein were still in power. Imagine if during World War two 41% of republicans had said it were better for Germany if Hitler had remained in power. (I know 41% is a minority and there were pro fascist isolationists before world war two, but nowhere near 41% supported Hitler, and once the war started the isolationists vanished and supported the war.) But here we are, our nation engaged in a world wide war, and many in the democratic party believe that not only would Iraq be better off, but that we shouldn't even be fighting.

The democrats true failing, as far as political success goes, is that they keep revealing what they really believe. Let's support our troops with one breath, and pine for a monster like Saddam with another. Perhaps we should let the Iraqi's move here, let them hear routine talk from the democrats and we'll make republicans out of them for sure.

41% is 41% too many. No decent, rational person could believe that leaving a fascist dictator in power is somehow good for the world. I'm surprised that support for war mongering, genocidal terrorist supporting(no one seems to remember his 25,000 dollars to the families of palestinian suicide bombers, or his sheltering of terrorists) fascist monsters isn't in the party platform. Here we have the "party of the people" saying it would be better if the rape rooms were still open, if Uday and Qusay were still torturing people, or if people vanished for speaking out in favor of the most basic human rights. I bet Thomas Jefferson would be proud.

It was our belief that a stable of friendly tyranny would best serve our interests, while we ignored what the tyrnat did to his own people, that caused much of the misery in that region to begin with. Despotism are naturally unstable, and the oppressed tend not to be too fond of those that enable their oppressors.

Hussein is right where he belongs, on trial. Let's hope that the other dictators join him soon. And let's hope the democratic party expels that 41%.
