Dec. 1, 2005 ‘You don’t need the money when you look like that, honey…’ Jet from their hit single, ‘Are you gonna be my girl’ and speaking of outer beauty, can it land one that seat on a crowded bus or other form of mass transit, a higher paying job, a raise and a host of other things including being stared at or ogled wherever one goes. According to research one can conduct himself or herself, it is not difficult to surmise that, overall, a pretty or handsome face does have its moments. But while the one who possesses all that outer beauty is feeling good about him or herself, do some of those beautiful people ever stop and wonder out of all those people who smile with you as you walk down a crowded street, how many of them would truly accept you for who you are, had you not had such a beautiful or pretty face? Some persons might not care about that due to all the positive attention he or she might be receiving from just being outwardly gorgeous, but when one of those beautiful persons sits at home on a Friday evening wondering why he or she does not have a date for the evening, it might dawn on him or her that this beauty thing can give others a different impression. For some people might think just because one is so beautiful on the outside, he or she might not have a free evening to himself or herself, much less time to sit at home wondering why he or she is alone. And that is one of the great misconceptions of being or possessing outer, facial beauty. Everything might not be as it seems. And just like everything has a price, so is being outwardly beautiful, for no one might want to approach such a beautiful person for fear that he or she is already taken or in an otherwise committed relationship with some one else. Or the person who wants to approach the beautiful individual might feel he or she is not good enough to compete with such beauty. So, you see, just because some one is beautiful, does not always mean that he or she can get anyone he or she wants, even though that’s the impression an observer is left with after seeing such an individual pass by him or her on the street. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
